You are not alone in this fight. Let’s walk this journey together.
David Stewart, M.S., LMFT — aka CoachDStew
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and certified life coach who has spent much of my life studying what makes people tick—why we think the way we think, why we do what we do, and why we sometimes sabotage ourselves despite our best intentions.
Why this interest? Because that’s been part of my journey too.
I’ve learned firsthand that regardless of our talents, skills, faith, or upbringing, we can all get trapped in thoughts, habits, and behaviors that keep us from becoming the people we were created to be.
My purpose is to help men—and couples—identify and break through those mental, emotional, and spiritual barriers so they can live with greater freedom, purpose, integrity, and strength.
That’s what CoachDStew is about: helping you get out of your own way and become who God created you to be.
With 18 years (2008-present) of experience as a clinically trained Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and certified Life Coach, I have worked extensively with men and couples navigating the challenges that can disrupt relationships, personal growth, and emotional well-being. My clinical approach draws from evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and other proven mental health interventions. I also have extensive experience helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, and self-defeating patterns develop healthier ways of thinking, responding, and living.
With over 29 years (1997-present) of ministerial experience, I received my ministerial license through the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) denomination. I have served in ministry to young adults, men, married couples, and singles. Throughout my ministry, my passion has been to make Scripture and biblical principles practical, understandable, and applicable to real-life challenges. Whether ministering, counseling, or coaching, I help people move beyond simply knowing what the Bible says to understanding how to live it out in their relationships, decisions, personal struggles, and everyday lives.
For 13 years (1999-2012), I owned and operated FCE Insurance Services as an independent insurance broker, giving me firsthand experience with the rewards—and realities—of building and running a business. I understand the pressure, uncertainty, risk, fear, and persistence that come with entrepreneurship because I’ve lived it. That experience allows me to help others push through fear, discover their purpose, take meaningful action, and pursue the life God has called them to live.
I am a U.S. Army veteran with eight years of combined Active Duty and Army Reserve service in the Signal Corps, including service as an instructor. As an Airborne Paratrooper, I learned firsthand how to confront fear, move forward despite uncertainty, and perform when the pressure is real. The Army is where discipline was trained into me—and where I learned how to train, develop, and equip others to push beyond their perceived limitations and accomplish the mission.
